the cause of suffering

True Seeing Meditation

The basic idea

Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.
Job 22:21

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Matthew 6:25-26

If anyone thinks that God cannot support him in this life and in the hereafter, let him turn completely to his Creator in heaven, and sever his dependence on anyone else. He will then see that this plan eliminates anything that bothers him.
Quran 22:15

Purpose of this meditation... To ease anxiety by coming to see how things are in fact, and not as we would have them be. This could be called: "True seeing"

Mechanism ... Repeatedly remembering that we are not in control.

Truth

We start each meditation session by reminding ourselves of our intention: to ease anxiety by remembering that God is in control of all matters.

Begin by taking a couple of deep breaths and then just relax into stillness. As thoughts, emotions, or body sensations arise we just notice them. We don't push them away or grab onto them whether they are pleasant or unpleasant.

After noticing each thought or emotion or body sensation, we say to ourselves mentally "By Your leave - Thank You" and then return your attention to your breath.

You might feel your breath in your chest, stomach, or even in your nostrils. Repeat this process (notice - say "By Your leave - Thank You - focus on breath) for about one minute longer than is comfortable. The goal is to get to about 20 minutes at which time the brain begins to change neurologically.

Always take what you get from each session remembering that God will lead if we let Him.

Barriers to a good practice

Meditation is just barrier removal - removing how we think it ought to be and coming to see how it is as God created it:
Full of Beauty, Mercy and Compassion, created for you by the Living One.

You will come to see that you need do nothing to get out of a problem you don’t have.

May the Lord shower you with His mercy and bless your affairs with His guidance.
